Summertime away from school is a great time for this foray into creative writing for your children. Away from a classroom environment, their imaginations are both immense and truly ablaze, and a writing workshop is the perfect way to channel that energy.
A workshop cannot teach children how to write stories, but it can effectively and engagingly deconstruct elements that comprise a story, and teach children how to interact confidently with these parts to create a whole that activates their imagination and equips them to carry this practice on in their schoolwork and other areas of their life.
Led by fantastic writer Mina Malik, this workshop aims to unpack the elements of story-telling, and familiarise aspiring storytellers with them. In a series of interactive sessions, participants will engage in group and individual activities and discussions that will ultimately result in each participant crafting a narrative of their own.
This event is suitable for ages 8-12 and is open to the public. The event fee is Rs. 2000 for library members and Rs. 3000 for non-members, and is payable at the door before the event.
